Return to Kafr Ra'i

Posted by DR.BAJES JAMIL SHAKER YAHYA. on July 26, 2008

for some studentsevery day used to be a bad day because they hated school, some others loved it and never waited to wake up and go to school,i used to be the surgent in class to keep the law and order,we had one of the best principals ustaz MOKHLES MAHJOUB,he was an exceptional man at my time ,and whom we all respect and adore for his great service to our town, and also i have to mention ustaz AHMED TAWFEEQ who was an exceptional man ,well informed ,too,.all principals passed by our great city are exceptionaly great ,not to forget our great principal and teacher ustaz JALAL IBRAHIM who has been one of the earliest principals and from our city, they all transformed the scientific and the whole educational procwss into a new exceptiona level, qualitative education, and now we expect more than has been imagined ,partly because of modern technology, and because of that all principals we have right now are intellegent and hard working individuals, and happened that all of them from our city.
for i beleive for my self i did good ,and if i will be given the chance to get back ,i will still do the same thing ,though everybody wishes always for the better ,but i feel satisfied and when i grow older and look back ,educationally and scientifically i will not feel any guilt, because i did what i can ,at the right place and time and i was and used to be aware of what i was and still doing, yes we feard failure ,and we always thought that the promised future is coming and we always worked hard in shool and out of school ,because we waited for the day ,the day when we have a true honest government,to serve the true heroes,to serve that old woman with so many time inflected wrinkles on her face ,tell me what you can read and see in her face ,you can read all the suffering in the world, you can see the suffering of the prisoned southafrican nelson mandela, the patience of almahatma ghandi, the greatness ,the endurance and patience of ahmad yasin, khalil alwazeer, and yaser arafat, yes she also a true hero, she deserve everything .
but in kafr rai when we went to shool 30+ years ago,is there a failure?
along side the success,..yes.could we have done better?...yes.
could we have done more ?...yes.
success was an individual process and activity, and privately celebrated, and the right thing ,it should be a process that is shared by the largest number of people possible, and the wider the circle the better for the successful person and to the society as a whole, and the educational process ,too, should be shared ,not everything in books, and not everything is taught, also practice and activities is crucial for the individual,.
though i beleive there was a kind of trend in the educational process or say a rhythm, but introducing the new and the challenging, and and diversity in things and revisiting and looking at and checking at even the norms everynow and then is very important too, because in my opinion the routine by time limits the area for student to express him or herself
and question things around him or her including the teacher and the government and everything in a balanced moral way,and also it limits his ways of thinking aand thinking itself, and that will end up with a student that feels of weakness and more unanswered questions in his mind ,and because of the authoritarian kind of society that we have ,the student is faced with the situation of take this and dont ask so many questions,no..no ..i have never been like that, get up and ask anything you want ,because with you hard stand and indurance and insistance you will move the biggest mountain with a needle, and so he will get the information ,and not dare ask any questions, and routinely accept himself and his life be treated as an image of a human at the side ,not have the capacity to change in his life, and so we will be faced with a mentally crippled human, lacking the ingredients and factors for teamwork and creativity, and so some but not all of us was brave enough to walk the walk and talk the talk.
and so the freedom of thinking and the infinit boundaries of the freedom of thinking and criticism and talk, and so we are in the need of these brave ,free thinkers, and creating a generation of free thinkers ,eventhough it is like impossible in our society, but rarely you see the true ,free ,independent thinker, but with hard work, indurance, that can affect others.
yes we had great teachers that beleive in modern, educated, religious,,moral, industrial, and productive society, that thrives together towards a future full of success and hope that at the end will culminate finally and lead us to our independent STATE OF FALASTIN,with leaders that are with full trust in themselves, qualified doctors, engineers, that are the best, honest, dont accept pribes, and they will never corrupt their people, hard working because they beleive in ALLAH,and beleive by serving their people thy are serving ALLAH,we all hope in that future ,which i beleive it should be near, why not? especially when we have great teachers like ours who beleive deeply in GOD,and in good deeds,.they are a lot who taught me in CITY OF KAFR RAI AND CITY OF ARRABEH,they all have been magnificantly exceptional, they were the best of the best,.
i beleive no teacher is bad, personally i beleive whatever you see, hear and experience from you teacher ,take it ,have a look at it ,process it in your world ,in your own way,and do whatever you want with it,in my case i got all my experiences with my teachers ,collected them in piled form ,made my own mountain out of it and i got up on my own mountain,i like it,and i feel success ,and i am satisfied ,although i feel i have to do more and more ,because success for me is you want to see yourself there when you have got up here aand see the world of difference and the world of ignorance and ignorant people.
i thank all teachers in kafr rai and arrabah, and every teacher that helps make planet earth a better place to be livable, and that help shape and construct students personalities and help construct and creayt life as we see it unfolding before our eyes.
during spring shool days were more enjoyable ,few weeks and vacation begins, but (sheddo and falaqa)are always have been there for the outlaws and disturbing students, tell these students became very famous and teachers began picking on tthem,it was an enjoyable period of time(stage of life)that we all have gone through, and it can never be better than that, the reason why? .is that because in nature we are simple, innocent, good beleivers in ALLAH,and that we aspire to be and do better,do the best we can for ourselves and for our homeland, and we always can be better and better ,because as i said the skies is the limit, and freedom and free thinking and free speech is important as oxygen and water for us to be free of our selves first, not to forget the most notorious, hated ,barbarian israeli occupation in palestine, the only occupation still exsisting in the 21 st century.
we can do better ...yes....imagin GOD will allow you to be back after 500 years of yor death to CITY OF KAFR RAI.,...and to hear about it ,ask people about it,and look at it ,from skies,or if you want to enter it walking from the first house in the east to the last house in the west, how would you imagin it,how would you like it to be or look like,so might want to work harder to build it ,educate its people better ,so it might be existing and much much modern, you will propably walk the main road and look at its houses ,how it was before and how is it right now,you want may be to go and see what happened to the old stores and the people who owned these stores befors and you might imagine how they all looked like in the old traditional PALESTINIAN DRESS EITHER men OR WOMEN and they had their headcovers, and how some used to have animals ,goats and sheep etc and how they worked in the land ,you might visit your favorite mosque and look in what changes happened also to yhe house you were born in.
yes by education ,good education we can do the best,
finally ,i hope the cypress trees in school are still there ,because there scent will remain in our noses, and always we enjoyed our cypress trees.
