Archeological sites Qannir contained a number of khirbats, where the ruins of walls and cisterns were found, and it appears that the village itself was constructed over an earlier settlement too.

According to the Palestinian historian Walid Khalidi, the village remaining structures on the village land are:
"Stone rubble is strewn about the site, which is covered with thorns, fig trees, and cactus."
