My Father's family is from Al-Mujaydil. The Khoury (meaning priest)family for generations were the clergy leaders at the Greek Orthodox Church which is still standing in the town. The church bell was taken to a nearby Jewish Kibbutz and used as a dinner bell. There is a current effort by members of Al-Mujaydil who live in the nearby town of Nazereth to rebuild the church.

This is the village of my mother and her family. My grandmother, mother and uncle were able to run for their lives, under fire, to near by Nazareth, but her other brothers and sisters were forced to become refugees in Jordan and Syria. My mother and uncle are in possesion of the deed to their parent's house (where both were born!) and the land as of today and will never give up their rights to return to their beloved Al-Mujaydel. |

My family was living in Al-Mujaydil at the time of the occupation and fled to Nazareth. I was born in Nazareth 10 years later in 1958. I believe that 'Nour' is a (laqab) or a sort of nick name that was given to my grandfather when he was refered to as Abu Al-nour (father of light) and the name 'nour' stuck. Previously we held the name (>awissat)
